As a result people with disabilities and seniors were denied HandyDART service over 42,000 times last year, an eight-fold increase in only four years. Service quality has also deteriorated, with riders routinely forced to wait for hours.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Join us for an open discussion of the need to increase HandyDART service, and the opportunity presented by the transit funding referendum scheduled for June 2015. The referendum likely won\u2019t pass unless it meets the needs of an aging population, including funding for better HandyDART service.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone benefits from better transit, including our growing population of older seniors and people with disabilities. It is time to make major investments in transit including HandyDART, to make Metro Vancouver a livable and age friendly region.
