More info coming soon.]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>March 22, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NEW WESTMINSTER \u2013 TransLink and the HandyDART Riders\u2019 Alliance\ntoday announced a joint settlement in a Human Rights Tribunal case regarding\nHandyDART services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the Settlement Agreement, TransLink will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Produce an annual stand-alone public report on\nHandyDART service performance;<\/li><li>Provide funding to the Social Planning and\nResearch Council to conduct research on the experience of HandyDART customers;\nand,<\/li><li>Seek Board approval to create a HandyDART Users\nGroup.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Human Rights Tribunal case was originally filed in 2017 and\nwas related to the provision of public transit to people with mental and\nphysical disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>HandyDART provides an average of 5,000 rides per day. TransLink\nis committed to improving the customer experience for HandyDART users as we\nunderstand how critical these services are and we do our best every day working\nwith our third-party provider, First Transit, to help our customers get to\nwhere they need to go safely and conveniently. As a result of the Custom\nTransit Service Performance Review, TransLink has already taken steps to\nimprove services for HandyDART users.
